Team Maryland would like to congratulate Mac Brice, Luke Farinacci, and Christopher Foley on their opportunity to skate with the Maryland Black Bears of the NAHL this week.

Mac, Luke, and Christopher all join Team Maryland after spending last season with Prep Schools.  Mac is Team Maryland’s leading scorer on the season.  Luke is a versatile two-way player who is one of the team’s top offensive threats but plays valuable minutes on defense in key situations.  Chris is part of a strong goalie rotation that has been the strength of the Team Maryland team in early part of the season.

“We are excited to reward our players with the opportunity to experience hockey at the NAHL level.” Said Executive Director Mike Weiss, “It’s important for us to showcase our top players in Team Maryland to the Black Bears as they build their affiliate list for this season and as they prepare their draft boards and tenders for the future.”

All players were impressed with the speed and pace of the NAHL practice and how it was going to prepare their games for the EHL Showcase hosted by Walpole Express Sept 30-Oct 1st.

The Junior Hockey News ranked the best Tier-2 and Tier-3 Junior Leagues in North America, ratings were based on the 2017-18 season and how teams/league move players on to the NHL, College, USHL and/or Major Junior programs in Canada.
To no surprise, the NAHL was chosen as the best Tier-2 league in North America and the EHL as the best Tier-3 league.
"The NAHL is simply light years ahead everyone else.  No other league comes close to matching the player marketing of the NAHL.  From very well executed events, an incredibly active stream of player marketing, to a propaganda department like none other.  The NAHL simply out works every other league when it comes to moving players on to higher levels."

"The EHL, was once again the top producer of NCAA prospects at the Tier III level. The EHL also continued to move players on to Tier II when those opportunities were presented. The EHL lead all Tier III leagues in NCAA D-3 and D-2 placements. Be the best at one thing and you don’t have to worry about what anyone else may be doing."
