During the 2017-18 season the U15 team was the only squad of Team Maryland to make it through to the National Championship. It was also the only team to make it that far since the early years of TM. Fast forward one season and the same team, now U16’s, is back in the hunt. Focused on the journey and taking things one day at a time, Coach Ceransky is reluctant to talk about National Championships.
“Our team knows what the end goal is, but we don’t see the value in talking about last year or how far we can take things this year. We are steadfast in enjoying and overtaking the obstacles that are in front of us day to day. One rep, one shift, one practice, and one game at a time we will earn our success,” Ceransky states.
The plan seems to be working. With last weekend’s win against the rival Little Caps, the boys are now guaranteed a spot in the Southeast District Championship and are just a few wins away from returning to the promised land. The U16 team solidified their SE District appearance by going 2-0 against the Caps during their season series with a combined score line of 14-4. Leading the way in the series was Sean Killcullen (5 points0, Ethan Davidson (4 points), and Mike Greene (4 points)
