Team Maryland sends 3 teams to AYHL Playoffs

U15s (2004s) are in the playoffs for the 5th straight season after finishing 20-8-1 in the AYHL this season.  04s secured their playoff spot behind goaltender Chase Hornbecker sweeping the LI Royals for 3 games over the final weekend of the season.  U15 playoffs are single elimination format, Team Maryland will face off against the LI Gulls Saturday at 1:15pm.  Team Maryland went 2-1 against the Gulls during the regular season.

Bantam Majors (2005s) enter their first AYHL Playoffs.  They finished the regular season at 14-8-3 with a +27 goal differential.  05s finished their regular season with strong performances against National teams with a win over the LI Gulls and tying Valley Forge.  Bantam Major playoffs feature a 4-team round-robin with the top two teams meeting for the Championship on Monday.  Team Maryland opens up the round-robin with the NY Saints Saturday at 1:00pm.  Team Maryland went 3-0 against the Saints this season with only 1 goal allowed. 

Peewee Majors (2007s) are back in the playoffs after another strong regular season.  07s finished 2nd in the AYHL with a 22-3-3 record with a +125 goal differential.  The AYHL ’07 birth-year has been dominated the last 2 seasons by 3 teams; Team Maryland, LI Gulls and Valley Forge.  LI Gulls have won the regular season in back to back years, but Valley Forge won the championship as Peewee Minors.  Peewee Major playoffs will feature these 3 teams plus Virtua in a round-robin with top two advancing to championships.  Team Maryland went 1-1-1 against both the LI Gulls and Valley Forge during the regular season.  They open up the round robin against Virtua.
